We invite you to the annual children’s fashion show, Hope Meets Art, Dakar, Senegal, which will take place at Baden-Powell House, 65 South Gate, South Kensington, SW7 5JS, on Saturday 28th April at 6pm.

This year, in addition to our 2018 Dakar Children’s Collection, we will be presenting a fashion show created by 13-14 year olds for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The event will be presented by the illustrator of JK Rowling’s book ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’, Olivia Lomenech Gill.

Tickets are available at £ 20 + Eventbrite fee.

Every year, hundreds of boys live on the streets of Dakar, Senegal. Victim of maltreatment, abuse or poverty, they are forced to sleep rough.

At the same time, many girls, while remaining at home, are denied a basic education.

The Hope Meets Art project works with the local Marist communities of priests and religious sisters to run two centres to teach these children and social skills to re-integrate into society. In the past year, some 200 children, regardless of their religion, have helped.

In preparing this event, the London-based team makes full use of the print-making skills of the girls in Dakar, with all the funds raised going directly to the Marist Centers there.
